Learn how to create and configure Targeting Personas and Targeting Accounts to define the people and companies you want to prospect in Sonik.ai.

Written by Antoine Gilbert

Before you start using Sonik.ai, it is important to configure your Targeting Personas and Targeting Accounts.

These two elements define:

  • Who you want to contact

  • Which companies you want to target

They form the foundation of your prospecting strategy in Sonik.ai.

Understanding targeting in Sonik.ai

Targeting in Sonik.ai works with two complementary components:

  • Targeting Personas: the types of people you want to identify and contact (for example: Head of Sales, CMO, Founder).

  • Targeting Accounts: the types of companies you want to prospect (for example: B2B SaaS companies in France with 50–200 employees).

Sonik.ai uses these criteria to identify relevant prospects and prioritize opportunities, using signals from professional networks such as LinkedIn.

Accessing the Targeting section

To create and manage your Targeting Personas and Targeting Accounts, you first need to access the Targeting section of the platform.

  1. In the left-hand vertical menu, click Targeting.

  2. The Targeting page will open and display two tabs at the top of the screen:

    • Persona – used to create and manage your Targeting Personas (the types of people you want to target).

    • Account – used to create and manage your Targeting Accounts (the types of companies you want to prospect).

Select the appropriate tab depending on whether you want to configure person profiles or company segments.

Creating a Target Persona

A Targeting Persona represents the type of professional profile you want to target within companies.

You can create one or multiple personas, depending on the different audiences you want to reach.

Once on the "Persona" tab, to create a new Target Persona, click the Create Target Persona + orange button in the top-right corner of the page.

Configure the Persona

  • Persona Name : Give the persona a clear name (Example: Sales Leaders, Executives)

  • Persona Jobs : (Select the functions you want to target (Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc.)

  • Custom Persona Jobs : (Add custom job titles if needed)

  • Seniority Level : (Select the seniority level (Owner, Partner, Founder, CEO, etc.).

  • Maximum Number of Prospects (Define how many contacts Sonik.ai should identify for this persona)

  • Excluded Job Titles : (Exclude job titles that are not relevant)

  • Click Add Persona to save it.

The persona will now appear in your list and will be used to identify relevant contacts.

Creating a Targeting Account

A Targeting Account represents the type of company you want to target.

You can create one or multiple Target Accounts, depending on the different markets or company segments you want to prospect.

On the "Account" tab, to create a new Target Account, click the Create Target Account + orange button in the top-right corner of the page.

Configure the Target Account

  • Target Account Name : Give the segment a clear name (Example: B2B SaaS France, Fintech Europe)

  • Countries : Select the country or countries where the target companies operate.

  • Company Size : Choose the company size you want to target (Example: 1–10, 11–50, 51–200 employees, etc.).

  • Company Type : Select whether the companies operate in B2B or B2C.

  • Industries : Choose the industries your target companies belong to.

  • Excluded Domains : Exclude company domains that should not appear in your results (for example existing customers, partners, or competitors).

  • Qualification Question : Optionally add a question to help qualify targeted companies.

  • Click Save Configuration to save it.

The Target Account will now appear in your list and will be used by Sonik.ai to identify relevant companies to prospect.
